No Lock-in
Your data, your freedom.
With CloudCan, your data and virtual machines remain on your infrastructure, in your premises. There's nothing to retrieve, nothing to negotiate, no permission to ask. You never needed ours.
1 Already yours
Unlike public cloud, your VMs and data are not hosted by a third party. They run on your Box, in your premises or colocation. When you want to change platforms, just export your VMs — they're already under your roof.
2 Open formats, native portability
Your virtual machines use standard formats (qcow2, RAW, OVA). They can be imported directly onto any compatible platform: Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, or another KVM environment. No proprietary conversion, no closed formats.
3 No technological dependency
CloudCan is based on Apache CloudStack and KVM — open source projects maintained by independent communities. Your infrastructure doesn't depend on a proprietary vendor's roadmap or pricing decisions. If Broadcom doubles VMware's price tomorrow, it doesn't affect you.
4 If you change platforms
Even if you decide to stop using CloudStack, your hardware and data stay. Concretely:
The hardware is yours. The data is yours. The platform is open source. There's nothing left to unlock.
